Dear Residents,

Please be informed a recurring pattern of safety violations related to the misuse of balconies in the building. These include unsafe storage practices, poor housekeeping, and negligence that pose serious fire and life safety risks.

As per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice, balconies are not to be used for the storage of combustible items, construction materials, or loose objects that can fall and endanger lives. Improper use of these spaces not only contributes to increased fire load but also facilitates rapid fire spread through building facades, especially in high-rise structures.

This includes but is not limited to:

 

• Prohibiting storage of cartons, trash, furniture, umbrellas, in balcony areas

 

• Ensuring all balconies are kept free from any materials that can ignite or be dislodged

 

Please note there will be random inspections in the community. Any identified non-compliance to this circular will be treated as a violation of the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code and will result in formal escalation to Dubai Civil Defence.
